The Ohr Torah Stone family mourns the passing of
Robert M. Beren, z"l
Mr. Beren was a man of unwavering principles and extraordinary integrity.
His life was guided by a deep commitment to excellence; he set the bar high for
himself and inspired excellence in his philanthropic partners around him. Mr. Beren
was enormously generous, investing heavily in education, which he believed to be
the key to change, as well as in honoring the Jewish past and ensuring the unity and
continuity of the worldwide Jewish community.
As a true partner of Ohr Torah Stone, Mr. Beren played an integral role in our
organization's development. His involvement and strategic insights extended to
every stage of growth, from meticulously examining building blueprints to envisioning
the mission and purpose of each project.
Mr. Beren's legacy will continue to inspire thousands of OTS students and alumni
who spend time in one of the institutions bearing his name including
the Beren Academic Center, Robert M. Beren College, Robert M. Beren
Machanaim Hesder Yeshiva and the Beren-Amiel Emissary Training Institute.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Beren’s children: Nancy Tobin
Beren and Larry S. Jefferson, Amy A. B. Bressman and Robert I. Bressman,
Julie Beren Platt and Marc E. Platt, and Adam Ephraim Beren and Ellen G.
Beren; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
